heart dog

Hey everyone it is a little after Valentines day (ok a lot after ), but my kids had a friend over and we made these Valentines for the daddies.  It is too simple.
Materials Needed:
Glues stick or Emmers on plate for painting
Construction paper
googglely eyes
scissors
heart punch out/ stencil (or free hand it)

Instructions:
For older kids you can have them cut out the hearts or trace them and what not these kids are three so we already had the hearts cut out.
Have the children glue them to some card stock.  I showed them where but you could just show them a picture.
lastly glue on the eyes and wrote some sort of message.  My daughter just wrote her name but again she is 3.
That's it you now have a cute Valentine for your daddy.

Here one of our little friends is painting the glue for her dog foot.
She is so proud of her finished Valentines as she should be.  I heard her Daddy loved it.

Minnie Mouse Clippie

Hey guys their are a lot of ways to make a Minnie Mouse, and the tutorials are out their however; this is how I do it.
First, you will need your ribbon, scissors, hot glue, needle and thread.
I do not happen tho measure mine, but I measured it after I cut it, and these are the measurements you will be looking for.
Black ribbon: 51/2 inches for the ears 10 inches for the head
Red ribbon: 5 inches for the bow. ( that part I do measure)

I wrap the ribbon around my index finger, and then around my middle finger for each ear.
I then wrap the ribbon around my index finger, middle finger, and ring finger for the head.  I try to keep these in the circle and sew it together.  You could always glue it, but I find sewing it makes it a little bit sturdier. once you have all of the circle together you need to sew them together in your Minnie mouse fashion.
Now we make the bow.
First, you fold your red ribbon in half to create a light crease, then you fold the ends in the center to create two more light creases.
Next, you will take the outer creases and bring them to that center crease.  This is the start of you bow shape.
Now, you will make a running stitch though the bow, and pull tight.  This cinches the ribbon creating the center of your bow.
Wrap your thread around the center a couple of times and tie off.
I personally love using embroidery thread, because it is strong and the color choices are endless. my thread also matches my ribbon perfectly, if that is not possible no worries that is what rhinestones are for.
Glue the bow to the Minnie and the the Minnie to the clip and your done.
This is how I wrap the ears. Sadly, this is how I measure them too.
This is the head, same thing really just more fingers.

This is how the bow should look folded here is wear I add the running stitch.
This is all of my pieces waiting to be put together.
 And Minnie Mouse is complete.
Happy crafting.

Crochet Easter egg

I use these little eggs in my Easter egg basket hair clip.  I had looks for pattern after pattern, and just  did not like the way the finished up or the hole in the center.  You can change the size simply by changing the yarn, changing the hook, or even adding some single crochets around the edge.
I used worsted weight yarn and the magic circle. If you do not know how to do a magic circle look it up on Google some videos and worded tutorials will come up.
Abervatsions:
DC double crochet
TR triple crochet
HDC half double crochet

In your magic circle
2 DC
TR
2 DC
3 HDC
DC
TR
DC
3 HDC
slip stitch to connect
finish off
Enjoy! Your new eggs I know your creativity will put them to good use.
